Japan’s oldest malt whisky distillery is located at the foot of Mt. Tennozan, southwest of Kyoto. The story of Japanese whisky began in 1923 with the big dream and passion of Suntory founder Shinjiro Torii who said, “I want to create Japanese whisky suited to the subtle Japanese palate.”
