A clean and simple Port Ellen from the 1979 vintage that I wanted to procure in the past, but instead opted for a different 1983 bottling. This one, while simple, hits with a good body. This sample was shared by a friend of the bar who was celebrating a newborn child.
Nose: sweet fruity stonefruits, sweet savoury peat
Palate: mellow, yet supple and juicy mango with a pleasant vegetal peat
