Probably the best Port Ellen I ever had, beating out the James McArthur Port Ellen 12yo Dark Sherry. This sample came about by an amazing trade deal. I had many opportunities to try this over the night as the glass was covered and uncovered, and each time the explosion of flavour on the nose was unrelenting. This was a beast of a Port Ellen.
Nose: sweet juicy honeysuckle with petroleum, salty coastal oiliness, fumey juicy salty MSG soup, rich juicy honey and both red and green apples
