This displayed significantly more earthiness and rustic elements than what we've seen so far - which is honestly greatly appreciated by myself. It felt pure and raw, with this rusticity that was balanced against the more concentrated fruit pastes here. It felt like this was bringing me right to the vineyards. The 12 year age gap from the 2019 vintage has done this great benefit, propelling it to yet another level above in terms of expressiveness, definition and concentration. From the get go this was immediately more complex with herbaceous elements coming to the fore, with the body more concentrated and rich, yet also less rounded and therefore coming off alittle more austere. This was an absolutely stunning Cab Sauv! On the nose, it was sensual and supple, perfumed with vibrant floral tones and backed up by soft dark fruits. It had a most incredible depth that complemented the aromatic intensity, and was just absolutely beautiful. The palate too showed such elegance.
